I've been inexplicably preoccupied! I have however been making progress with the aforementioned collection I'm working on and have spent the majority of the day working on the cover and back of what I have now decided will be a booklet.
I'm currently about halfway through writing it. I was having a play around with blurbs earlier and came up with this as a starting point to give you a somewhat better jist of the concept...
"A collection of poems centred around exploring the dark, framing it in various contexts. Revealing it to be as much a place of intrigue and discovery as it is one of anxiety, tragedy and pain."
I'm aiming to have it to complete for around november although knowing me that will most likely change! I have also submitted to Popshot recently for their 'wild' theme, it was a piece inspired by the character of Wolverine. His complexities intrigued me greatly and the duality of his nature was apt for the theme.
I read the graphic novel Wolverine for research and very much enjoyed, I would highly reccomend reading it espiecally for anybody planning to see the film. I'm going to see it tomorrow, it is apparently based on said novel. I'm very much looking forward to the film as it seems promising.
I'm going to leave you with something lovely. Earlier this evening the sky was a pale blue and the clouds went lovely and pink, it looked quite ethereal. So I had to get a shot(although my phone camera really didn't capture the essence but unfortunately I am without a better one) and write to capture the wonderful occurence...
Mars Is Dusting
Clouds smitten with coral hue,
like ethereal ocean in sky.
It almost feels like Mars is dusting.
